I am one of the 30 percent of the American people that are happy at work. I am also part of the 17 percent that have a great marriage. Now to go on, I am a majority in the 60 percent of Americans that are overweight, but working on it. And finally I am part of the 28 percent of people that haven't saved a lot for retirement.
I dedicate this blog to those of us over 50, who want to be happier, more creative and enjoy life. I will bore you with things I have tried and failed at, along with the one or 2 success stories I might have.
To tell you about me, I was raised in suburban Chicago, moved a number of times and have lived in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and for the last 22 years I have lived in upstate New York. All those moves except from California to New York were job transfers. Thank you retail management.
In the last 22 years I have had some great jobs, I have worked at the National Baseball Hall of Fame, I have worked at baseball stores in Cooperstown, New York. This time was great because I got to be friends with many Hall of Fame baseball players.
For hobbies I enjoy cooking, running (thank you Couch to 5k). I have a Australian Shepherd disc dog that has taken me to the world finals twice. I have a lab mix that has taken me to the couch on many occasions, and 2 great cats that love their people and the dogs. My other hobby is and old friend that I have found again this summer...golf.
So that is me in a page, I hope you will enjoy what I write and come back for more. I will tell you what I am working on and maybe give some pointers on how to have a disc dog, or how to add 10 yards to your drive. In exchange maybe you can tell me the secret of how to make a 15 foot putt.
Until next time....
